Quite a few enemies in Kid Icarus are monoptic because, you discover at the end, the main boss Medusa is monoptic, so they have that 'theme' going for them.
The 'cyclo' is the Eggplant Wizard, a frustrating enemy because he *doesn't* kill you, he just turns you into a tiny walking eggplant, nixing your offense and defense so everything else in the game can kill you. x_x;
