The space shuttle Discovery made a flyover of Washington, DC, today en route to its retirement home at the Air and Space Museum annex out near Dulles. Alas, I had to work.
Oh wait.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, but my job does have its perks. The 747 carrying the shuttle made four passes over the city at low altitude, but it never got close enough (or maybe my camera’s just not good enough) for a crisp, clear shot. It looked a good deal bigger and more awe-inspiring in person than it does in pictures.
