BEHOLD MY...UH....GRYPHON THING. JUST WITH NO BIRDY CLAWS XDDD

Its part American Kestrel, part Asian Tiger, two animals I saw at our local zoo that struck me as incredibly beautiful, and could work nicely together. c:

Hes a sweet young thang :V But sadly dont have a name for him yet....any suggestions?

Most take griffin as any cat bird hybrid rather than the traditonal lion/bird cross. Kind of like we use taur for pretty much all centaur based furries.

Taur is legitimate for use in such ways. You would just need to find the appropriate name to put in front of it. Centaur is horse, Minotaur is bull, etc...

There was a certain term for a tiger bird hybrid, but cant seem to find it.

Well if theres a name for it then that works to. I'm just saying that it's commonly referred to as a griffin no matter what the cat/bird cross is these days. And yes taur makes sense but it is also used to just mean bull (or having to do with such) as that is it's basic definition though not as commonly in this fandom as other places.

Course, you want to get reeeeeally technical, the word Griffin, Gryphon, etc.. actually refer to different types of gryphons. It is always fun when someone puts that argument of 'this is how griffin is spelled' because there is no wrong way XD
