Celia thought all her life, her blindness was a curse, a disease to make her suffer, for she cannot see what we can see.
Later in the story, she learns that they were special, allowing her to see in her mind what others can't, because they don't know how, and are too distracted.
A blind suricate can learn alot from a bumbling old human, who was once a composer for the royal concerto.
{Artist Note} I started the story having my new character blind, as it may be an interesting disability for a suricate. Although she suffers at first, she discovers a talent, is taken under the wing of a music composer, who trains her to use her 'curse' as a gift. And over time, her talents help her make a mighty stamp in history.

It is a little sad, but in truth, nothing can slow a meerkat down, not even blindness.
