I've been changing a lot as a person and as an artist this past year. I've wandered in and out of art styles, tried new techniques and injured myself countless times in the pursuit of more artistic 'self-ness'. Throughout it all, though, I've never had a character who made me want to draw them. Of course I've had characters I love. I think about them, decide on a story, roleplay them with my other characters, but they don't inspire me to draw them. They weren't what I was looking for.
I needed a fursona. I've been through many since discovering what a fursona was. An imp, rat, badger and, most recently, a species of my own creation. I liked them, don't get me wrong, but none of them were. . . me. I couldn't see myself as them or really get under their skin. I was giving them the traits I wish I had because I wasn't comfortable with who I actually was.
Not anymore.
Meet Meaux. She's a short, chubby French Bulldog who loves a good snack while playing D&D. She's lazy and adorable with a healthy fear of loud noises and other people's anger. She's not a bad ass and she's not what most people would call beautiful, but damn it she's mine.
And I love her. <3

In slightly related news, I feel that this image shows a decent amount of improvement in both my anthro and feral anatomy. I looked at a lot of reference to try and make her look like a French Bulldog rather than a generic canine and I decided to make her only five heads tall to accentuate her curves and height.
