While it would largely depend on what I was fighting, for general purpose (and basing this decision on design alone) it's a toss up between the Ancient Sword of Gia and the Guardian Sword. No matter how useful a large, thick sword with all that stopping power is, especially against armored opponents, when the blade is thicker than the cross guard then your cross guard is relegated to useless decoration.

Well I haven't exactly worked out on the specifications for each sword. But the player can also equip a shield if they wish to or wait until they get more experience to wield it with one hand. Right now the current idea running is that the more powerful swords (provided they a within your level range) could be wielded with two hands, making a shield useless. But if they get enough practice and usage out of the sword they will be able to wield it with ease. Course that would be in an example like if you were level 13 and found a level 17 arctic polar sword. You could equip it, but you'd be using two hands. You could train with it with lower levels to advance the sword or wait until you can reach that level.


Course I'm still working out that idea :P
