actually gen2 is my least favourite gen :B BUT
the speedgamers asked if anyone would draw 'all of a type' and i raised my hand for poison.
skulldog is doing bugs. i'm not sure of the others. but for me, the easiest thing to do was to break it down via generation and do a painting for each gen - working chronologically.
next will be gen3, ruby/saph.

well see to me? gen2 was a huge letdown. i got really into gen1, got all 150 without cheats, traded some kid for a mew etc etc. it was a big deal for me. gen1 even helped me make new friends when i abruptly changed schools in the 11th grade.
i was so stoked for gen2, and then it turned out barely even half of the pokemon were new. and all the ones that *were* new? either everyone used them, or they stank and were horrific in battle. the movesets for a ton of them were just intolerable. i didn't even finish the game until crystal came out and i forced myself to. not to mention the anime quality really took a nosedive in gen2. it just...stopped being fun, for the large part.
gen3 i was almost ready to give up, and i told myself i'd give pokemon one last try and if gen3 sucked then it'd be done with. but :O!!! gen3 was tons of fun! i loved the secret bases, and all the new pokemon, and they all had much better movesets...it was fun again, even though i was still not interested in the anime.
prettymuch my feelings are that pokemon took a huge downturn in gen2, and has been pulling itself up out of that nosedive of quality ever since. gen 4 was awesome, gen 5 is prolly my favourite since gen1.
i feel like a lot of people wear nostalgia goggles for gen2 because it's the first gen they really remember playing as teens. i'm kinda older than that general age group, there is quite literally a generation gap there for me.
