Okay so... INFO TIMES!!
Have you watched the stars lately? Beautiful, aren't they? So many, and some even forming pictures, constellations. Have you ever wondered how they came to be? Well if you haven't, sit back and listen to this tale.
Long, long ago, long before the regal sisters, Celestia and Luna came to rule. The wonderful land of Equestria was shrouded in darkness. Earth ponies, pegasi and unicorns alike, had to fight for survival in these dreaded times. Creatures of the night, as well as those of ones nightmares, roamed the lands, and made it unsafe for anypony to wander outside at night.
Even in these times, there were ponies, more regal than unicorns; The alicorns, which now stand as the bluebloods themselves and the true royaltiy of Equestria. But not even the majestic alicorns had it easy in those dark days.
Prince Orion, was one of many alicorns that lived in the dark lands. But unlike the other alicorns, who merely turned their heads against the dread that plauged their people, Orion wouldn't have any of that.
One faithful day, when he was flying over the dark sky, patrolling the lands, he stumbled upon a group of ponies, galloping in terror out of the Everfree forest. The prince quickly dove down to see, what had frightened them and almost lost the focus of his wings and fell, when he saw the monstrosity that launched out of the woods after the ponies.
It was the largest, most terrifying bear he had ever laid eyes upon. It's size being almost 5 times bigger than a normal bear! Frozen in shock, Orion stared as the bear caught the poor ponies against a cliff, sealing off their only way of escape. He had to do something!
The bear was standing over the ponies, drooling over them, it's yellow teeth glimmering in the moonlight. One of the ponies began to shriek, which caused all of them to as the bear plunged it head in attack. But suddenly, the bear let out a deafening roar and rose onto it's hindlegs, stumbling backwards.
A loud thud caused the frightened ponies to look up, their eyes falling onto a large yellow tooth on the ground. A snort was heard, followed by the sound of hooves slamming against the ground The ponies looked up, their eyes now landing upon a tall, navy colored alicorn with white wings and mane, dressed in a bronse armour.
Orion was standing with his head low, in a protective stance in front of the ponies. One of his white hindlegs was sprinkled with blood. He had bucked the bear in the mouth!
The bear however, was not frightened by this, but more so angered! He got down on all fours again, and charged against the alicorn. Orion now reared, neighing loudly as his horn began to glow fiercly, blinding the poor little ponies.
Once the light faded, the ponies opened their eyes again, a panting sound reaching their ears. The proud-looking alicorn, was now beaten, covered in blood, and his armour was broken. But he had been successful. The bear was laying on the ground, motionless, but alive.
For your crimes, Ursa, you will be imprisoned. Orion said and slowly rose his head, his hown glowing once more. As he focused, the ponies saw that even the bear began to glow, turning into a spectral shape of a bear.It then turned into six glowing orbs, almost as large as the ponies themselves!
Orion then reared once more, tossing his head back. This caused the orbs to move, as they launched into the air and well out in space. As the prince landed on all four again, his horn stopped glowing, his mane fell over his face. He was panting heavily, but he soon caught himself as he felt something cold against one of his front legs.
He looked down, his white eyes landing on a small yellow and green unicorn with big pink eyes. She had snuggled her nose against his leg. Orion couldnt do anything but stare at her, and when he did, he saw something in her eyes, a sparkle, no two, no wait.. 6!
Orion rose hise head towards the sky, and to his delight, his spell, the one he had worked so hard on, finally worked! On the once black nothingness of a sky, there was now six brightly glowing stars, glimmering in delight.
The six stars formed what looked like a wagon with no wheels, but as Orion and the ponies looked closer, they could see the glimpse of smaller stars, which made the picture complete, and created the shape of bear.
As he watched the stars with a smile, he suddenly felt a tingle on his nose. He could just barely see it, and what he saw, was a small glowing dot on the tip of his nose. What it was, he had no idea, but over time, he would find out.
Sir.. the yellow unicorn began. What is that? Orion looked down onto her again and smiled, then turned his head back up. That, my child, is Equestria's first constellation. The Ursa Major.

How intriguing... i do love characters with backstory, and the fact that you made him noble and kind instead of an arrogant uber-powered jerk is of course great too. ^_^
Am i right in saying that each one of the little stars on his coat pattern are from a constellation he's created then?
