I'll take the description that  Vallhund cause it was pretty perfect:
this character is originally a Biologist working for the Military, engineering (or refining) biological super-soldiers. He derives one day that he needs to test the next controversial mixture on none other than himself, and ends up becoming a highly intelligent Beast in the process. Whatever species he was before is lost in the mixture. The Military seizes him for experimentation which leads to training him in savage arts. In one of his first missions he looses his arm, and through his own tinkering makes not only a highly effective cybernetic arm, but an entire SUIT for himself, including a Display Gauntlet for his experimentation only he can access with his robo-arm, a Skeleton Card Key that infiltrates any sort of door requiring key access, and leg pieces that help him jump much farther. Needless to say he doesn't stay a puppet for very long.
