poetigress' prompt this week was "superstition," and I need to thank  vixyyfox too, because it wasn't until I saw the first few words of her submission that I remembered this idea.

Inspired by the work of  tengu, I came up with this very bizarre bakemono idea. I mean, what bakemono isn't bizarre? Seriously, the Japanese have extremely strange ideas of what monsters can be and do. So here's my take on it. Set more or less in the Legend of the Five Rings universe, which has also inspired Omega Archer Ryouji, my current ongoing and very neglected writing project. Mostly, my aim was just to take a look at the gift-receiving ritual that L5R samurai have to go through. >.>

Oh, and I mention OAR because episode 3 has been rewritten. I'm waiting for some feedback before I post it here, but anyone who's been reading it will have another chapter to go through, hopefully before too long.
