Orbitals suck! Have you ever tried making a Tao 3?

What is a Tao 3?

Also, SteelMoon - good job on the orb even though you don't like making them. Personally, I find them easy to make.

I can see how that would be a pain. I think I did this one with too small of rings... I'm gonna try again with some larger ones and see if it changes things for me. If you see smoke coming from my direction it's because I exploded and destroyed the entire west coast in rage.

xD Try using 1/4 16g, and 5/16 16g. That's what I used for mine

I was told to use a 5.5 AR ring and these are like 5.3 ish so I was thinking of upping it to 6.0 and seeing if it works any better. I doubt it will work with that small of an AR but if I fail and end up destroying the west coast, I'll try again with those size rings and hopefully the blast won't shatter the earth.

Yeah... I know the feeling. It's a fairly straight forward design but it's hard to see how it works with just a picture.

Depends on the size. The larger the orbital, the higher the price. I'll make a few more and I'll post prices if you're interested ^_^

It is closely related to Turkish Orbital, and explains about half your problem. You need an AR of around 6-6.6 to effectively make these. I don't have the right material to make it out of aluminum, but I could make them out of either of my steel.
Price? I would say around 3-5 dollars depending upon how good you get at making them.

Yeah... I figured I had the wrong AR for it. My li'l sis saw one online and kinda badgered me into making some stuff. I have plenty of rings that will work for the orbital in steel, aluminum and even some titanium. The fact that I managed to get it to work with a 5.3 AR is the surprising part and, like you said, explains the frustration I was having. Yay for bad weave tutorials!

And I would agree on that price with the stipulation as to what material and what size rings were used.
