Chalk another one down for the Kung Fu Panda late night scribble sessions.
This particular one had been sitting in my head for quite a while, literally apparently, alongside conversations and stuff. To sum it up, I was wondering what business as usual would be like in the Jade Palace, besides training. Since Tigress doesn't seem like the type to follow a creative hobby, but more like someone who seeks "excellence of self", I figured she would likely maintain discipline over her actions and training by meditating.
Her attire was inspired by various other sources towards what Tigress would be wearing on leisure time, in this case simple cotton fabrics, although the themes in those sources generally had her drop the same soon after introduction.
And to head off any questions, I don't think Tigress smiling is too much out of character. Actually, I think the maturing of the characters to become more balanced individuals is likely going to be a topic of the follow up movies.
As for the inevitable question of whether or not I'll be drawing mature scenes; I don't know. It hasn't struck me yet and I'm happy with just drawing "slice of life" sort of stuff from the Universe, so it remains to be seen.
The stuff I drew this to is very different from the pictures topic, but if you want some background music for it, I found some nice pieces.

Yeah, I love your art, for the quality, & style. Would like to say sorry though. I once told you I was going to try and re-create one of your ships(Light Si'itian Carrier) in 3d, but after an hour of work I realized I had no idea what the other side of the ship looked like & just gave up.
Maybe one day I'll try again, but probably a different ship, maybe your "Casimatra-Class Scouting Vessel" if that's alright. - The one pic you did with the "exploded schematic" gives a bunch of nice detail, even if I only rebuilt the outside of the ship in 3d. . . I'm not sure what the bottom side of the ship looks like exactly though, but I assume its similar to the "Si'itian destroyer" which I got to see the bottom of in your "Burn the Horizon" pic.

It certainly looks like the average slice of life in the valley like you said. Personally I'm more than fine with this sort of expression with the characters, I find it very nice and relaxing, and the colors and fur texture are breathtaking. Looking at it actually calms my breathing as if I were meditating as well lol.
this is a really deep piece of art indeed. its not just all bout porn and so on here, as much as we all like it, its just so refreshing for something soft and meaningful. the background and color complements her very well. and what else would a kunfu master be doing on their off time. besides Po eating himself THICK! the peach blossoms in the wind is a fantastic touch to it.
The peach blossoms I thought were a recurrent theme in asian styled animation to show a slight breeze. The slight hint of movement removes the impression of a static picture, or so I think anyway.
As for what the masters do outside of their training, well, we saw hints of it in the first movie. Crane practices calligraphy and Monkey apparently meditates and chills most of the time. Would be interesting to see what Viper and Mantis do in their off time. Viper I guess dances? o.O

1. set the colors on black and white / or maybe there is a line art which I am allowed to use
2. print it and
