For those wondering, a rainbird is a bird that sings just before rain or a storm. Rainbird received her cutie mark when she predicted a terrible storm, warned others and then accidentally discovered her powers of weather manipulation when she caught a lightning bolt on her horn and redirected it away from the other ponies.
