Gotta love how it's still possible to mainly focus on the guy even though if there's all those leaves around him. Great.

That's because when you make the foreground and background objects out of focus, it makes you draw your attention to the subject of the matter because it's in focus. It also makes the in focus part seem much more vibrant too. It's a very interesting visual effect.
