What you see here is just a friendly dragon having a smoke. When I get the courage up, I shall finish him.
*Edit: Forgive me, I was in such a hurry to submit this, I didn't give credit to
RandomSheepGirl for her wonderful help on this guy's tail feathers. I had put this illustration on hold for months due to the simple fact I couldn't get his tail right. And in seconds she showed what I couldn't figure out on my own. Without her help this would have ended up in one of my endless pile of unfinished sketches. Thanks Sheepy, for being such a great teacher! Forgive me for taking so long to edit this, I'm still learning how to navigate this site.

that linework must have taken you ages! I would have died before the body would have been done, probably by old age...
impressive work. very detailed without looking overcrowded, which is no simple task. ma'am, you have talent.
btw, I think it would look good without colours, too. but whatever you do, please make sure the ink stays visible. :)

Thank you bunches! He took awhile, no joke. I would pick him up scribble on him, get mad and put him down....this went on for about a year. I had finished his tail but it was just scales at that time, no feathers, and it looked naked and too snakey. I cried to my friend Sheepy and she took one look at it and ghosted some feathers on the tip. Instant Fix! Ever since then, I've been looking at it trying to figure out a color scheme....still haven't decided. He may never be colored....dunnos.
so he was growing up, sotosay. :) yeah, sometimes you need a second pair of eyes. :)
as for the feather theme, some bird colours might look good. light colours, maybe even pastel palette. but it might take the eye away from the fine ink details. I'd say if you can't find a colour scheme anytime soon, declare it finished, because then it would be. :)
