This was my target at 25-30 feet. 1st two clips at head, 2nd two clips at body and 1 last clip at neck. Firearm was a Ruger P85, 9mm with two 15 shot clips. was a fun 15 minutes!! and the next day I qualified for a Conceal Carry Permit.

PPKs are nice but oh so $$$, the newer P99s also have some pretty horrid triggers, if you can get one of the early ones (used also makes it slightly cheaper)
I'd also suggest an M&P9 compact, their grips are modular and fairly thin for a double stacked 9mm. I see many people with smaller hands or little hand strength using and loving them.

Dont know if you still check this but my cz-83 is perfect for me and is a fairly small gun. If you have small hands and a small budget this is the best handgun to go with. Its chambered in .380 acp with a 3 inch stationary barrel. It barely kicks but packs a PUNCH on the other end.
