I will always favor Contours.
They have a place in my heart.
SO
They are in a sense "my boss"
MY QUESTION TO Y'ALL
is
What Ford is your love?

1978 mercury grand marquis. my first car
started on fire while i was sleeping in it ( long story ) got out, found a garden hose, hose was 15 feet too short to reach around the corner, watched it burn to the ground ( while crying, i loved that car ) untill the fire department put it out.
bummer. but i still love that car.

I like my Ranger, always liked the Broncos with the fiberglass tops, and got to drive, I think it was an F-350 or 450, I forget, but huge truck, and I was surprised at how pleasant of a drive it was, and how much power that big turbo-diesel can make without much effort. Always been a sucker for some of the Rancheros and Mustangs, too. And the Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Town Car are always nice to ride in. Wouldn't mind a Marauder, either.
My first car was a used 1975 Granada in 1980 but my faves are in a tie: my present Fusion Hybrid and the 1996 Mercury Sable with the high output engine. I shocked a Lexus 500 one day by leaving it in the dust (had no choice as he was gaining on me fast and I could not change lanes safely). It was the first time I broke 100; I did not realize it until I saw the Lexus recede in my rear view and I looked down to see the needle in the middle of 100. :)
For those of you who have the 2000 or later Sable or Taurus H.O. engines: remove the limiter and you can hit 132MPH. :)

It was a tip from either Motor Trend or Car and Driver. The limiter kicked in between 108 and 112 by killing fuel to some of the cylinders; the engine kept going but it was like the transmission was in neutral. It "re-connected" after a 10MPH drop. I never did remove the limiter despite getting 130MPH rated tires at one point. I believe that that engine was a de-tuned version of the original SHO engine made to run on regular instead of premium.
