Last I checked, in the US, thanks to its ass-backwards laws, anything you create is essentially automatically copyrighted, though there's a much more complicated process to make it official where you can sue people properly and stuff. Which is ridiculous, but whatever. Though I'd ask why we're having this discussion? It seems a tad unnecessary.
