Got a bit of a surprise today; my sister and nephews came home with this guy in tow; it's an adult box turtle. The tank it's in is a temporary accommodation until we can get a more permanent enclosure. According to my sister, the boys' daycare director found the turtle and kept it until someone adopted it, and my older nephew Hayden decided he was going to be the one.

UPDATE: Just found out that the turtle is actually a girl (females have a more outwardly-rounded underside to their shell vs. concave on males).
