yay the return of Tauntaun suit

Original Tauntaun is still around, now performed by  skyryd3r

He was suposed to have been retired last year but Skyryd3r is having too much fun with him as you can see here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7823550/

so will this one be yours and now there will be two of you wondering around cons? :)

I only designed the original Tauntaun fursuit. It was constucted by Arend Studios. You might be thinking of the Dodger (Ram) head sculpt pics I posted a few years back.

Ohhh maybe that was it! Well either way I'm excited to see how this turns out, the first one was fantastic :)

Thanks! The horns have only the first coat of latex rubber added so far. :)

Did you carve the horns in foam and then cover them in liquid latex? That's what they look like.

Awesome. I've been pondering how to do Echo's horns. Hadn't thought about this method, because the last time I used latex over foam, I had to use sooo much of it because the foam just soaks everything up!

Lot more cartoony than your last one.

I think the last one was way more cartoony with his much larger eyes and oversized head features.

Really? For some reason I seem to remember the suit looking kinda realistic. My memory must be giving out lol.

Thanks! I hate furring heads. It's what can make or break a good head carving. I had Noble fur Dodger and I did Dale (my horse) myself. So hopefully I will be able to pull it off with this one.

It's going to be epic to see both Tauntauns at the same time! The original one can still look good with some intensive brushing. Did Ronnie told you he got groomed at Le Salon de Comet?

I was reading down in the comments on this and you said you used Rubber latex, you say, for the horns? I wish I could start on my taun ASAP and have it done. Run into problems and overcome them before next year. I just have no money, lol. What stores local or online would rubber latex come from? A hardware store, maybe? This is a balaclava base, right? I'm going to make a feminine tauntaun if I can. I just have to figure out a very female facial expression to carve on her lol.

The rubber latex is the kind you would use for making molds and can be found in most craft or art stores. You brush it on in layers and can even tint the clear rubber with acrylic paint.

As for a felame look, that van be achieved with some long eyelash looking black felt aroudn her eyes. Females can also be depicted by shortenning the length of the muzzle and a smaller more dainty nose.

I look forward to seeing how yours comes out. The more furry tauntaun the better :D
