Poem number twenty five for the month. I followed the prompt from the NaPoWriMo website asking users to create a cento - a poem created entirely from lines taken from other poems. It was quite interesting and far more difficult than I thought it would be. I split them into two separate poems.
Here's a list of the poems I used, along with their respective authors. It reads in order of each line used:
The Narrow Way – Anne Bronte
Destiny – Gregory Corso
Question – May Swenson
Some Like Poetry – Wislawa Szymborska
All Souls’ Night – William Butler Yeats
Dead are my People – Gubran Khalil Gubran
Alone in Her Beauty – Du Fu
Footsteps – Constantine P. Cavafy
Thanatopsis – William Cullen Bryant
Power – Aleister Crowley
From the Dark Tower – Countee Cullen
Lover from Palestine – Mahmoud Darweesh
At a Border-Fortress – Wang Changling
Of Three or Four in the Room – Yehuda Amichai
