Owl eyes are so big there isn't actually much room for brains. Not that they're stupid but Falcons do have more intelligence and are a lot easier to train.

She was a falconry bird that was then used for breeding. She was hooded a lot and we were told she hates the hood.
We don't make her wear one, she's much happier being able to see the world around her.
