This piece was done as my final project in a summer art course. It's all done in pen on a 16x20" sheet of thick drawing paper...so it's quite large compared to what I normally work at. It is now framed and hanging in my house :)
As for the content of the piece:
Well...it's actually a very personal piece for me, so...make up your own meaning, I have mine ;)

Very beautiful picture, the details are quite amazing. The owl looks extremely realistic (the eyes stare into you interestingly) and the trees also have more detail/natural look to them than most people put into drawings. Must appear rather nicely on your wall; how long did it take you to complete?
Have to say personally I love the trees in the background, tearing their way through the stone with their roots. The old orders of nature reclaiming what was taken from them by humans. The owl perhaps beckoning the viewer to leave the crumbling walls of the world they know to return with them to the ways of old. Perhaps one day I’ll be able to talk you into telling me your personal understanding of this picture :P, it has many symbols and possible hidden meaning and I have a feeling my understanding of it differs from your own. Either way though congrats on a beautiful piece, I take it your teacher/professor was pleased?

Thank you :) I believe this piece took around 12-15 hours altogether?
While my interpretation of the piece does indeed differ somewhat from yours, I find yours to be quite intriguing :) Perhaps one day I'll type up a more in depth explanation, but it mostly revolves around guidance through life and the obstacles that entails. But anyways, I enjoy reading your comments, they are very in depth!
