A coyote would make a terrible pet, first of all you'd need a fenced enclosure and have to feed it a very hight protien diet (raw chicken and beef), coyotes are not like dogs and cant be house trained, and also I know from expiriance that wild animals even raised by humans will become restless and miserable if they cant be in the wild. When i was really young my family used to help rehabilitate wild animals and Ive read alot on the subject too.
Although I know that theres wolf / german shepard crosses that make good pets and require no permit to own and look exactly like a wolf but they have enough dog in them to act like a dog.

Oh! That's be smarter indeed!
I heard that Cheetahs make good pets because if they're tamed at a young age, they become even tamer than dogs
Yes, I prefer a happy pet than an unhappy beast in my garden.
And it'd be cool to have a wolfdog that looked like wolf. I have thought of a Saarlos, Utonagan or other estabilished wolfdog breed.
By the way, My dog needs a companion... If I were close to Java, I'd adopt on of the wolfdogs on the shelter she works
