Here is a lovely frost Gryphon. Queen of the North. She is a gryphon with frost phoenix foreparts and arctic fox hindquarters with snow leopard markings on her shoulders and rump. Her name is Jenna.

Hmm I would have to agree on those two. Her eye sight be quite good being part phoenix and great hearing too with the fox part. So most likely its down to what she likes better watching or shooting.

they'd be mostly the same actually, one plotting the courses of stuff around the ship and the other plotting the course of its weapons fire, i think forward batteries would be an optimal position for her talents since its more dogfights than broadsides in my setting
