That is good that you will be able to work on your car yourself and get things fixed.
Out of curiousity, how did you get into your car accident?
I like Cadillacs a whole lot, and I do like your generation of the Sedan Deville. Cadillacs are solid cars, and it appears your vehicles has stood up pretty well to the accident. I am sure a lesser car would have had its whole front end gone in the type of wreck in which you were. I especially like the interiors of your generation Cadillac assuming you have the pillow top seats and the fancy doors on your car.
I hope things work out for you, and definitely upload pictures of the progress you are making on the repairs to your car.

I took a turn too fast and sharp, and apparently swerved off the right, and then back to the left and into a hill. Luckily I just grazed the hill with the front left and didn't full on hit it, or airbags and serious head trauma would have occurred.
I have blue leather interior with said seats, and what I'm assuming to be fancy doors. It's a '92.
And yes, not only would a lesser car have had its whole front end gone, but it would have rolled as well. The hill was probably 45-50 degree grade. I'm lucky to still be alive, to be honest.

I am glad that you are all right, and your accident sounds like a bad one. One thing I will say about the upper level GM cars including Cadillacs, Buicks, and Oldsmobiles are that they are cars that do a great job protecting its occupants even if the car itself gets messed up. Assuming you were able to walk away from the accident, then that shows that your Cadillac has saved your life. It is for that reason why I trust GM and Ford products because those cars are built solid despite the mechanical issues that those companies had in the past.
Oh, your car sounds really nice in light of the interior you have! The 1992 Cadillacs were nice cars, and I liked the headlight indicators on the hood showing the driver whether or not the lights are on/off. Of course, nothing can beat the interior of your generation Cadillac with the plush interior and smooth ride. One can drive long distances in Cadillacs and not feel fatigued due to the comfort of those cars.
Prior to your accident was your car in otherwise good mechanical condition? Besides the body damage was your car's powertrain or electrical components damaged? I hope that you can get your car back together affordably because it looks like you had a pretty big job to do.

The main reason we got the car was because of how safe it is. I'm 18, and this is my first car, and a hell of a first car is is.
The only problem with long distance driving is the unshakable urge to fall asleep, lol.
The car was in great condition, save for the power steering fluid pump cap being busted, or something along those lines. It was leaking fluid everywhere. We thought it was oil at first, but thankfully we heard the whine indication low power steering fluid and sure enough, the thing is empty. I drove the car home, so I don't think anything too major is busted up. There wasn't a pull to the left or right, and nothing was leaking. Even after this, she's still a beauty!

Cadillacs are definitely a great first car, and there is no question that one of the reasons why you are with us today is because that Cadillac held its own and most likely saved your life. I know a lot of folks who are in their late teens/early 20s want sports cars, but the reality is that cars like Cadillacs, Lincolns, and other large vehicles like them are extremely safe and dependable. I have nothing but good things to say about cars like yours.
Haha! That is true about long distance driving making one sleepy! The nice thing on your generation Sedan Deville is that the back seat is quite comfortable, and it is a good place to take a nap. I always keep a pillow and blanket in my trunk just in case I get tired and need to sleep for a while.
I am glad that you ended up all right and that it appears that you were not hurt despite the type of accident you had. Also, it is good that it appears that only your power steering when out and no other major components were damaged. How long do you think it will take for you to get the car back into the shape it was in before the accident? Well, the accident might be a blessing in disguise in the sense that while you all are repairing it you all can replace other wear and tear parts such as the serpentine belt, spark plugs, and all of the major fluids so that the vehicle will last you for a while longer.
On a side note, if you have not already done so, then you might want to consider registering your Cadillac with General Motors in your name so that you can have access to the Cadillac Owner's website: http://www.gm.com/gmownercenter/cadillac/ Also, if you have a smart phone, then the Cadillac ap is a helpful one: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/myca.....398605251?mt=8
I hope your car can be restored to the shape it was in before the accident and that it will be made better than before. Definitely keep us updated on your repair progress.
