Anything more specific? Vibration could be either something out of balance, loose, or broken. If it's only during left hand maneuvers, it's more likely to be something loose or broken, as you'd feel something unbalanced most/all of the time.

Hmm. I'm not an expert, but I'd say it could be one of a few things. Presumably you've got the wheels on there well, so it's probably not the wheel wobbling, because that'd be extremely noticeable, not just during turns. Could be something with power steering freaking out. Could also be an issue with one of the joints going bad, or an axle seizing. If it's affecting the steering wheel, that indicates it's likely a front tire.

Alright then. Sounds like either something is seizing up, or there's something wrong in the steering column. Probably put the wheels back on while it's jacked up, and have someone turn the steering wheel while you spin the tire by hand and see if it does it while you can watch from outside the car what it's doing.

I've had 3 XJs - a 90, 95 and I now drive a 99. Only my 90 was 4x4, and I was in a jeep offroad club at the time. I kinda regret selling it.

I just saw your other pics. Did you have the tow strap on the steering, or the front axle tube, or the sway bar?
