Well I lied about the story being uploaded on Friday, I couldn't help myself. This is the first chapter of a hopefully long series.
The Jaunt chapter one
Chris was staring at his so-to-be worldly possessions, his backpack, his toothbrush and toothpaste, a map of the united states, a knife, and ten $20 bills, and a family photo album with a couple of locations scribbled on the back, all laid out on the bed. His parents were arguing about god knows what in the background. His mind was in a muddle, he wanted to do this but his heart was racing beyond what could be considered healthy. His stomach felt like it was full of acid and his entire body shook, he was really going to do this, he was going to run away to California. About two years ago he found her, she was on a chat room and they began to talk. Chris found out her name was brook and within a few weeks of talking to her he mustard up the guts to see if she was really a girl via video chat. She was, he must have spent most of his days behind his hand-me-down computer talking to her. About a year ago she and him began to Role Play online, to put it simply it worked. He began to get more and more involved with her until he decided to run away.
When he first found her he was a ball of anger, confusion, and frustration. His parents limited him with everything, he couldn’t do anything. When he finally got internet on a secret computer that only he and his brother knew about he decided to go open rebellion and go onto the internet. He went from chat room to chat room, mostly just to piss off his parents. Then he found her, and she…she was like living therapy. She guided him through some stuff, exposed the lies that his parents told him, and started to heal him. He never felt happier then when he was with her. She helped him through his confusion and within him. Finally when they video chatted he was able to see the beauty that he had been talking to. She was a folf, she had her dad’s fox fur, tail and ears and her mother’s body. Her eyes were hazel and she was curvy in all the right places. Her laugh was like an angel singing and her voice was a melody in motion. He hoped he didn’t disappoint, he didn’t, he was a Lizard-Dragon hybrid, his scales were a bright red all over except for his stomach, which was a glowing white. He inherited his mother’s wings, neck, and tail. He was stuck with his dad’s head shape, tiny claws, and his deep blue eyes. Although that was the only thing he really shared with his parents
His parents were assholes to put it simply. He’s never seen any of his other family members…ever. Whenever he did something a little out of the ordinary they would flip out on him. One time when he was five he thought it would be funny to put on some of mom’s lipstick and a skirt, they didn’t. He spent the rest of that week cleaning up the house, helping his brother chop wood, and being forced to watch football for some reason. Any kind of slightly strange friends were excommunicated from his house and only the “normal” kids were allowed to be his friends. His parents weren’t exactly rich either so none of the normal kids wanted to be around him so as a result he had to keep his social life privet. This was more than fine for Chris.
He had planned this moment for months, plotting the route, asking his friends for a little money, getting a little more fit to increase his survival chances, that kind of stuff. And now that he was here….he didn’t feel like doing it, he could be murdered, raped, or even worse converted to a catholic! Also there was the problem that he didn’t have a car, no contacts outside his hometown in Maine, and that fact that it’s October and the weather was getting much colder. Chris opened the map and went over the plan one more time; he planned on going down through New York and visit some family he’s never seen before and then moving on to Florida to visit his aunt. He started to doubt on whether or not he was going to do it. His mind raced with all the horrible things that might happen to him along the way, then the sound of broken glass rang throughout the house and he made his choice. He took a deep breath and stuffed all his stuff inside his pack along with some light clothes. He put it on his back and quietly climbed out of his window, never looking back.
