BETTA!!!!

I've always loved Bettas since I was a kid, I used to have one that allowed me to pet him once, WIERDEST AND BEST FEELING EVER!!!!

naw, but i used to put them up to mirrors when i was a kid.

thats always good. it gives them something to do, its fulfilling for them to feel they are defending their turf.

NO, that is bad for them. It can stress them out and kill them.

i dont think letting them see their reflection for a bit will kill them. they arent fragile as egg shells or they would never survive in the wild where they usually live.

for a few seconds, no. but you should for any longer than that. I am not saying that they are as fragile as eggshells, but it is cruel to stress them needlessly. It can cause them to be more susceptible to injury or illness.

well yeah giving them an opponent for a long period of time that they cant seem to chase off will be counterproductive. i usually just go near the bowl and he will flare his gills threateningly, so i will display back at him for a little bit then leave and he will do his little victory dance. its better than him just sitting in a tiny bowl all day every day with nothing to do and nothing happening. i used to do the same with my chicken, i would go out and challenge him then let him "beat" me.
