The mainspring was sticking on the mantle clocks movement so its on the bench after a thorough cleaning.
(As of this writing it's actually clamped in an upright position running fast without its pendulum)
This movement is pretty basic with no 'complications', a simple hammer for the gong.
No jewels whatsoever either so it has to be regularly cleaned and re-oiled.
This time around I'll be using Moebius Microgliss D-5 and Moebius Synt-A-Lube 9010. Probably overkill using such oils as I'd wager light sewing machine oil would work fine.

Nope, just a 15 year old mantle clock.
I can't say I've ever come across a 'rack and snail' pendulum 'winder' clock with jewels, though I suppose they do exist.
On mantle clocks with a balance wheel I'd expect at least two jewels. I've not personally worked on such a clock though.
