Man, my submissions here have been pretty teacher-heavy and pretty clothing-light lately. It's just how the commissions fell, folks. Can't say this type of art is the norm for me, but it's probably wise that I'm practicing.

I commissioned the belly dancer series. It was to do a series of watercolors focusing on the form of dance. The fact that Bette and Mitzi were used was simply that they were among the characters best suited for the project. You may note that of the three costumes, Mitzi's is the most risqué while Deirdre's is the most conservative (and elaborate). Mitzi and Bette are still looking for a suitable husband and being younger, probably dress a little less conservatively than Deirdre. Deirdre, being relatively successful with her catering business and married to a successful attorney, has a costume that is more expensive and conservative than the other two. That was more or less the logic behind the series.
