
Hali our female Bald Eagle was standing there with her leg hanging like this staring at the wall. After a few minutes she started looking around but didn't actually put her leg up on the perch for... like 10min?
I was picking up and cleaning cages when i saw her doing this.

I'm pretty sure birds have some kind of tendon they can lock to allow them to do this with ease. I swear I've heard this before. And usually they bring the non-locked foot up to their belly and hide it in their feathery tummy fluff to keep it warm, but I guess this eagle doesn't need the warmth right now!
