This is an incomplete sketch of one of the heroes from an on-and-off console-style TRPG I have called Homunculus. This is the character who is probably the most central to the story, Crane. I can't really say he's the main character, since everyone gets their time in the spotlight, but a lot of the game will revolve around the circumstances of his creation.

Crane here was an experimental fusion of human and Avatar DNA. In other words, a homunculus. He was created a few years before, along with two other homunculi, in a research facility. While the two others were made from ordinary monster DNA, however, the creature his was born from is the equivalent of a god in his world, and grants him the ability to commune with and command Avatars as familiars. He escaped with the Avatar of Fauna, Speccus, and had his memory wiped clean, leaving him with the personality of a young child rather than an adult.

Aside from his command of Avatars as familiars, he tends to have a good bit of skill in curative magic, as well as non-elemental offensive magic. His weapon of choice is the Culex throwing knife, a sharp blade with a rope attached at the end for easy retrieval.
