This is one of my first drawings I did of Taro. I've been working on this comic on and off for the past 3 years, and this is final design that I came up with. If you go on my DeviantArt, I have OLD pictures of what the characters looked like 3 years ago. I have no intention on posting those here.. they are that bad.

Anyway, this was still before I had started working on the pages. I was still trying to develop the style that the comic would be in.

And, for anybody that knows anything about dogmushing, yes, I screwed up the harness. When I used to race, I always used X back harnesses and instead of googling what an H back harness actually looks like I just did this from my head using the X back harness design. Oops.

ALSO, all these huskies are Sakhalin Huskies AKA Karafuto-Ken. There is practically nothing on the internet about this breed, other than it's a Japanese breed that looks to be between an Akita and Shiba Inu. So I really just referenced some northern breeds like the Greenland Dog. They had the bulk and the fur that I thought would be appropriate for dogs in Antarctica to have.
