What I've been up to... Mhar map project!
One of the two major mapping projects I'm currently working on for Fool's Moon, a large scale atlas/map of the Kingdom of Anaeland from the Mhar Fantasy RPG that will in time become a poster. This is an excerpt from the project showing the NW corner of the kingdom, depicting the moorlands of Brunumshire (rather like Dartmoor and Northumberland in England). The maps will likely end up a kingdom campaign book Greg is currently working on (along with several other books in the pipes) and will be out sometime in spring. I'm rather pleased how the maps are turning out actually.
The other project is a large scale Forgotten Realms-ish map of Kith Kanaan of Furry Faire that Foxtrot has me doing.

I've always loved doing maps, inventing the names, and working out a background for them. Sometimes I'd start with the map and work forward, or I'd start with the background and work back to the map. But I almost never carried the work through to inking and colouring since its only for my own pleasure. Who else gave a damn, I figured.
Some of my mapping was of urban landscapes too. Others were unexplored wildernessess. I wasn't so much into magical kingdoms since Tolkien had in principle pretty much said it all.
