Just a little something I did for fun about a year ago, this is another tune I made using Little Sound DJ - a tracker for the GameBoy - in an emulator.

The tune is a chippified version of one of RPG Maker XP's wonderful orchestral MIDI tracks, of which I remain resolutely fond. VX Ace may be powerful, but XP's music roxxor'd all kinds of soxxors.

If you enjoy JRPGs and are interested in making your own games, I cannot point you anywhere better than RPG Maker. Prices vary between versions - XP is a little dated, but by far the prettiest and also the cheapest. VX Ace is pricey, but you get a hell of a lot of control without the need for extensive scripting, and it's also up-to-date with Windows Vista and 7. You can trial both for a month for free with no limitations. That's enough time to get to grips with it and make a small game!

...Try VX if you want to try My First Game Engine. Piss-easy to use, but even less featured than XP, regardless of what the feature list on the site suggests. You would actually get far better bang for much less Buck with XP.
