Here's a well thought out character sheet of Dave the German Sheppard. This is the first time I've ever drawn him without a shirt on, so I had to finally figure out what his fur scheme was. I'd had a bit of a back story on his for a while too, but it was challenging putting it into words.

Character Description
Dave is a short stocky muscular German Sheppard from the Boston suburb of Plymouth. He is a freshman student of Aviation Science at New England Technical University with ambitions of becoming a fighter pilot. A bit loud and in your face, he can come across as a typical jock. Get to know Dave, you'll find he's quite intelligent and compassionate.

Personality
Dave thinks like a dog, emotional, logical, solve a problem by following the signs. He thrives at having a cohesive group of friends and family that do things together. He is loyal, caring, patient, and supportive. But he is also hard headed, can be a little quick to excite, and not afraid to confront ANYONE. He is also very competitive and motivated, and will not turn away from a challenge or task until it's completed.

Dave gets along well with others, the product of coming from a large family that had to share a small space. He tends not to be judgmental and is good at getting a feel for someone before interacting with them. He likes to tease, but can do so without being a jerk.

Likes/Dislikes
Dave likes hockey, he REALLY likes hockey. He likes to watch it, follow it, and play it. He'd probably try to be a professional hockey player if it weren't so hard to get into. He likes aviation, not as much as hockey, but an aviation career is easier to accomplish.

There isn't much Dave doesn't like. He doesn't like being without his ball cap. He doesn't mind being short, but hates being confused with a Hyena or African Wild Dog, which happens sometimes. He has an especial dislike for furs who aren't team players when they claim to be.

Background/History
Dave was born on June 12, 6987 in New England. He is the second child to Duke and Persy Boyard, younger brother to Brace Boyard and older brother to Jake Boyard. They were a typical family of dogs, a noisy house of 4 males and one female. Just imagine the chaos of two young parents raising three puppies who loved wresting, playing spontaneous hockey matches(often indoors), and challenging each other at just about anything. There is not a single inch of their townhouse that hasn't been broken or chewed on. Dave's parents were only strict when it came to the boys' responsibilities. Otherwise, life was a free-for-all.

Dave's father is the local fire chief, receiving his training while serving in the World Alliance of Fur Nation's Military. He often spoke of his military and civilian experiences where teamwork and cooperation meant the difference between life and death. He made sure Dave and his brothers grew up with these values. And they did. In fact, they did so well that the Boyard Brothers became an unstoppable force in Little League Hockey and around the streets of Plymouth. The Boyard Boys' were the neighborhood heroes, and their primary school was completely bully-free during their teenaged years. They were friends with everyone, and if you messed with one of them or their friends, you messed with all of them.

The Boyard Family love and unity was tested when oldest brother Brace followed in their father's footsteps and joined the WAFN Military immediately after graduating primary school. Dave and his family thought it was great, until Brace got on the airplane bound for boot-camp. That's when the tears flowed. It was unimaginable that Dave and his family wouldn't see Brace every day. Dealing with Brace's departure to pursue his life and career brought the family even closer, but it also matured Dave and made him stronger. It also influence his decision not to go very far for college.

Plymouth is in perfect view of airplanes going in and out of Boston International Airport. Dave is the one member of his family that got the aviation bug. With his grades, he was easily accepted into New England Technical University's Aviation Science program with a military concentration.

Dave is from New England(NE), founded March 21, 6066. Geographically it borders Appalachia Republic to the west, Quebec to the North, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Long Island Sound to the south. We know this area as Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The capital is Boston. Official language is World Anthro. Primary industries are education, manufacturing, seafood, arts and entertainment, and beer. Most residence enjoy a modern middle standard of living. NE joined the World Alliance of Fur Nations on July 16, 6620, when the organization first formed.
No fur knows where the name New England came from, it's what this region was always called. One theory is that its named after the state of Engleshire, in the United Isles of Northsea, or 'British' as they call themselves.

Body
Dave is 5'4" tall and weighs 145 pounds. He is short, stocky, and very muscular, built like a brick. He has fairly typical German Sheppard markings, brown "5 o'clock shadow", black ears, short dark brown headfur and backfur, tan front and mostly tan legs. Average tail with long fur. Dark and slightly rusty colored eyes that have a friendly nature with a little bit of attitude.

Although only 16, with his mature face and build he can easily and often passes for mid 20s.

Clothing
In warm weather, Dave wears a T-shirt or sports jersey with khaki or gym shorts. In cool weather he wears khaki pants and sports jacket. Wears tennis or running shoes. Always wears a white ball cap turned backwards.

Very simple, just a black wallet and a stylus-able com.
