This is Vask Vashima, the predominant inventor of the Atu. The Atu are an extremely advanced, intelligent people who value knowledge and neutrality above all things; they are the leading scholars and inventors of Mir, writing unbiased accounts of history, countless texts researching into fields most wouldn't dare tread, and producing armaments that make the neighboring Vangoth Empire hesitant to pick a fight.

Their one problem is that many are reckless. Some make alliances with the neighboring Kuh-Tah tribes to test their inventions (you scratch my back, I scratch yours; they get field testing and the Kuh-Tah get free access when they're mass produced), but after Vask's good friend (Tuzra, who I have to draw) lost his arm in an explosion, Vask began testing on himself.

He's now had to replace several bones, one eye, and a portion of his circulatory system. He's undeterred.

His most recent invention, The Dragon Gun, was originally intended as an aid for his fellow Atu to clear land for construction since the desert grasses are very tough to pull when they're often twice your size. However, he's considering modifications for making it more... weaponized. After all, the neighboring nations are getting a little loud again, and you can't be too careful...
