This is the story of how Dark the Umbreon came to be, granted most if it was actually real but disguised because I didn't feel like shoving anyone's names out there.

SHADES OF BLACK Chapter 1: THE BEGINNINGS
It was a day unlike any other. One day I was a just a young wolf wandering the streets, in pursuit of the next opportunity to make someone happy, but it is amazing how fast things like that can change. But we’re getting a little bit too far ahead for right now. Here’s how it all started.
I was a wolf, by the name of Ilmax, walking down the street to my mate’s house. He was expecting me over for a little while, but I never made it. I ran into a bunch of people doing drugs on the corner and saying they knew me and who my friends were. As they smoked an drank, they grew increasingly more malicious and spiteful of me and I just couldn’t bear it. I ran away from them, crying my eyes out. Never before had I been affronted in such a manner! The nerve of those guys!
It was only a matter of time before I was able to walk again, feeling slightly more depressed than usual but still managing to wear my usual smile and walk with my usual gait of happiness and head up high. Unfortunately, there was another group of people along the way who said the same things about the friends that I had made; apparently this had spread to more than a couple of drunks. This time, I was able to somewhat defend myself against their jibes at my friends, but they still overtook me in mocking them and making me feel like I had worthless friends. Again, I ran, but this time could not help but feel an overwhelming sense of depression.
I rounded the corner of the street with my back to the wall, heaving my chest as I breathed deeply as I tried to hold back my tears while I fumbled for my phone. I called my mate to tell him something had come up and I would not feel up to seeing him today. He was genuinely worried for me, but he understood. If something was enough to make me feel this badly, then it was something serious and I needed time to recover from it. My tears could no longer be held back as I hung up the phone and I ran into the woods, feeling even more depressed than I had ever felt in my entire life, which is saying something since I’m a Nobody and can’t feel any emotions whatsoever.
I ran further and further into the woods, not caring how far I went nor even where I was going. I stopped in the glen in the middle of the woods and cried my eyes out near the creek. I just couldn’t stand how mean everyone was being to me about my friends… how could they make such bold accusations about them? It just wasn’t fair to them, nor me. It wasn’t too long after I started crying by the creek when I was interrupted by a soft whisper of a Pokemon near me. I turned around to come face to face with a Mesprit, the Pokemon whose power resides in feelings and emotions. This Mesprit floats directly in front of me, whispers its name once or twice, just barely audible to my perceptive wolf ears, then closes its eyes in concentration.
All of a sudden, the weirdest things started happening to me. I became feral, my body’s four legged posture feeling different to me since I was so used to being anthro and my senses become more perceptive than before. My gray fur grows shorter to the point where it barely covers my body and turns all black, my eyes turning from white with green irises to totally green with black pupils, not an iota of my old eyes anywhere to be seen. Suddenly, I felt a new source of energy and vigor as my body adopts a set of blue rings, one on my forehead, and another couple on my knees of each of my four legs and bands of the same shining blue color appear on my tail and newly formed long pointed ears. As soon as these changes of mine occur, I fall to the ground on my side, breathing heavily as I look up to the Mesprit with a spiteful glance. To my surprise, as I look up at it, I can understand what it is saying to me now.
“You turned out to be a rather handsome looking Umbreon I would say, my dear. Your feelings of spite and hatred towards those who stood against your friendships has treated you well in this regard.”
“You turned me into a what?” At this I gasp with shock because my voice sounds differnent as well, like I’m a prisoner trapped inside a new body. “What have you done to me, and why?”
“I just happened to be floating by my favorite glen in these woods and when I saw you crying here, I couldn’t help but take a peek to see what was wrong and try to fix it. You seem so nice. It’s a shame people disagree with your perspective on your friends… but that’s a price everyone must pay sooner or later I suppose.”
“You still haven’t answered my question. Why? What did you hope to gain from doing this to me?”
“I was hoping for a piece of gratitude for one. For two, I gave you a second chance… no one will recognize you in this form, seeing as it’s one that you’ve never taken before. And thirdly, it seemed appropriate to me that I should give you another shot and frankly… I think you’ve got a fairly good chance with a nice shiny and sleek body like that one.”
“Well…. Thanks I guess… but you kept mentioning a second chance? What does that entail? Where is my life going to go?”
“Of that I am uncertain. You will be taken to a new world and from there, the choice is yours what you will do. Now, I must bid you farewell. I have other places to be, but I hope to see you again, my cute little Umbreon…”
With that, the Mesprit leaves me to lay on the grass. I crane my neck to follow her line of motion and then lay my head against the soft green grass of the glen. My new life… as an Umbreon? How will this play out, I wondered to myself. I was almost scared to think about it, but then I realized, that the Mesprit had been nice to me. She had given me a second chance, a chance that I should try to use wisely. With this last thought, I laid on the grass, the transformation having drained most of my energy and leaving me with only a couple of minutes of consciousness. I closed my eyes slowly, little did I know that this was my last glimpse of the world that I was born into and loved so dearly.
