Yes, VERY YES! Which is why I get distressed when I see a fic that is: Just Chrysalis (I'm a little overdosed), about a Changeling but isn't good at all, or about a Changeling or half-Changeling but is so ham-fisted that it may as well not exist. About the only GOOD Changeling story I've seen so far is "The Farmer in the Dell."
Well, there comes the question of what exactly they absorb and the argument of love as a finite or infinite resource. I personally believe love to be an infinite resource, and while it could certainly be tiring, depending on the amount drained and the methodology, and possibly even lethal in the case of forced extraction, I believe that one could probably keep a changeling quite conveniently if raised in a caring environment.
But it's all debate of different fanon/head cannon so it's kind of a pointless argument.
