This cat. I love this cat. I have been afraid of making this cat for so long. He's been in my queue for awhile (though unpaid, so not rushed or anything), and he has a similar looking brother, also longhair.
This is (obviously) a work in progress shot, I'm in the progress of adding in the black striping. Things I still need to do: finish the longhair striping on the body, add some shorthair striping to the legs, and the HEAD. It's not uncommon for me to leave the head to do last, because it almost always involves painting something and I put that off. This one needs painted eyes and a painted nose. So anyway, it seems like anytime I show someone a wip without a head, instead of focusing on what is there, they're always like AHHH NO HEADED MONSTER. But. But. Look at what's already done! Look at this nice thing!
It is so photogenic. And I can't wait to finish it. I showed it to my mom when I was taking these pictures, and she loves it. She asked if someone ordered it (or whether it was a spec for etsy), and I said yeah, it was an order. She paused, and then said darn.

It's slightly easier to actually crochet than the last tabby I did (which was a shorthair). The brown yarn here is homespun, and the yarn I previously used was loops and threads Country Loom, which is a bit more... choppy? Snagged more. All the long fluff on this is looped/tied on, and the actual body underneath was made with a much easier to work with, standard yarn!
Interestingly, the fluff and the legs on this cat are made of the same yarn, but they look slightly different in color.
