Caine/Riddley ref
So I told myself I wouldn't enter another OCT after Coloring Medium but aw shoot this one looked rather interesting so I figured hey may as well set myself up for certain failure again give this whole thing another shot. I realize at the moment I suck at storytelling type things but I figure this may or may not be a way to practice and get better so why the heck not give it a try 8'D
probably won't post the pages here but you're welcome to stop by my DA if you're really that interested.
I used these two for my 4D final (which was a 7 page comic) and i really fell in love with the designs. The plot however was very generic and the personalities weren't too developed yet so I guess win or lose, at least I may get some character development out of it so yes here we go! >8C
Name: Caine
Alias/Nickname: Host (by Riddley)
Age: mid 30's
Gender: Male
Species: Alligator
What was stolen: Certain memories associated with Riddley (ex: how the two met/ what their connection is)
Abilities: Nothing out of the ordinary
Physical Strengths:
> Skilled at stalking/hunting as well as close combat (hand to hand or otherwise) if needed.
> Moderately strong pain tolerance. Caine is used to being scratched, bitten, etc.. by his victims and will often work through the pain if the injury received is merely superficial.
Physical Weaknesses:
> Limited vision due to being blind in one eye. In addition, he is very sensitive to light, making fighting in a brightly lit area extremely difficult.
> Softer scales on stomach, chest, and neck provide for major weak points
Height/Weight:
6' / 200 lbs
Personality:
Highly illiterate and politically incorrect, Caine is not afraid to voice his opinions despite knowing little to nothing on the situation.
When recalling an event to someone he will often slightly fabricate the story to make it seem much more exciting than it may have been.
Caine is also a highly superstitions individual. Though he has no issue with killing things, anything mildly supernatural or out of the ordinary will leave him very hesitant to kill for fear of it bringing him bad luck. Considering something to be "special" can be anything from extremely obviously unnatural to simply a strange feature that is uncommon for said species (ex: uncommon markings, fur/skin tone, etc...) . Anything/anyone he considers normal however is fair game.
History/bio/whatevz: Living a solitary life in the heart of an extremely dense swamp, Caine has taken it upon himself to hunt and kill any lost traveler who happens to have the misfortune of coming into contact with him. He is known to make a meal of his unlucky victims and will often take an item from them as a trophy.
Other:
Margret : It is unknown who/what Margret once was however, the strange skull appears to hold a very special place in Caine's heart. Though it appears he is aware that the object is not alive, this does not stop him from sometimes confiding in or talking to the skull.
Relationship with Riddley Despite not being the best of friends, Caine trusts Riddley and often follows his advice. If this advice is against anything Caine believes, he will be extremely hesitant and may not act upon it however it is not entirely impossible for him to be persuaded into it.
Not being good with names (or words in general) Caine will more often than not pick out a distinguishing feature of someone and use it in place of actually learning their name. This can be anything from a distinguishing color, pattern, or height to the name of said character's species.
Likes:
Quiet places with little to no people
Dimly lit areas
Water/swampy areas
Voicing his opinions
Dislikes:
Crowds
Sunlight
Taking orders
Name: Unknown
Alias/Nickname: Riddley, Ridds (by Caine)
Age: Unknown
Gender: Genderless (prefers to be identified as "he" or "it")
Species: Unknown
Height/Weight: Because he does not have much of a physical body, Riddley's height can vary. He often prefers to present himself no shorter than 6' and no taller than 7'5" (2' in bird form)
Personality: Riddley often comes across rather cold and emotionless. However, on rare occasions he may seem polite if he finds it beneficial to his plans. He will rarely ever initiate a conversation with anyone aside from Caine. (even then, it will mostly be to give an order/ ask a question)
History: Unknown
Other: Riddley bird To avoid attention/ get out of a crowded situation, Riddley can sometimes take the form of an odd looking bird. When in bird form, he is more prone to attacks and is generally more vulnerable. Because of this, he generally chooses not to use this form.
Relationship with Caine Though Riddley does not seem to care much for Caine, the two seem to have some unknown connection. Riddley will not fight Caine's battles for him, though if it appears that the alligator is in serious trouble, he may offer some advice or command.
