My original vision of Fiachra was of someone who was fairly stoic and reserved; someone who cared a great deal about a lot of things, particularly his sister, but who didn't dare show a great deal of emotion. He's changed quite a bit since then, but every now and then his original personality will shine through. It wasn't something I'd expected to see in this commission, as I just gave the artist his picture and not a word about his personality, but it actually works pretty well.

Hah, yes. My poor Fiachra. It's hard to be a really masculine buck when your creator keeps thinking how good you look in purple. But I do like the expression on his face. It's a bit more grim than we normally see, but it does bring him a little bit more in line with the big brother figure he was in Oseille. Which is part of his personality I keep meaning to bring out a bit more. There is a bit of a manga feel to this picture, too, isn't there? Probably helped along by all that lovely long hair of his.
