Just got my new speaker system today, 280 watts. The box weighed 42 lbs and was a bitch to carry up all those flights of stairs. See the black box in the back? That's the subwoofer. See the black bxo in the front? That's my computer.
I find it funny that the subwoofer is about twice the physical volume of and consumes 40 watts more than my desktop PC.
jamestheraccoon doesn't find it that funny though :<

They don't sell them on Newegg any more... I bought it for ~$60 about a year ago. The closest thing (looks similar, acts similar) they have is this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ.....82E16815167001
On the downside, it's $100. Devices of this type usually aren't cheap :<
Really, I'm hoping my next monitor (unless this one breaks, that's still at least 2 years down the road...) will have a built-in array of video inputs. I can dream~

THX Z-5300e. After Mail-in rebate of $40, you can get them for $83 here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ.....82E16836121121
'course shipping is a bit of a bitch ($24 for me) but hey, they still ended up being a couple bucks cheaper than a 70 watt Logitech 5.1 setup I got at Best Buy just a few days ago (returned that shit so fast xD).
Seriously though. I had the speakers within 25 hours of placing the order :P

Because at the time it seemed like a good idea? Being able to fit it in a duffel bag with all the accessories and cables, except for monitor and speakers, is pretty handy. It also saves me that much time and weight when I move in and out of my dorm 4 times a year.
Of course, now I'm wishing I had something where I could more easily replace the motherboard, or add more hard drives, but I just have to deal with it.
To be fair, it was a good computer in its time, able to do everything that a system three times its volume could.

Yeah, I wish it was less messy, but the number of monitors and speakers alone mean I'm going to have at least a dozen cables floating around back there.
It's some cheap-as-shit thing I bought a couple years back because it had a blue back light and that was cool to me. Then the back light burned out. Now all it does is make an angry whining noise if I try to use the back light.
