My dog, Rocky, was put down today. They injected the meds, she took a heavy breath and about 5 seconds later her head went limp. :\ It was really hard but I thought I'd be bawling and I wasn't, thankfully.

She had a skin condition the vet couldn't cure.. we had her on steroids which totally deteriorated her muscles. She looked so skinny, her cheekbones were pronounced and she had little energy. Whenever we tried taking her off the steroids, her skin would flare back up. My mom and the vet decided last week it'd be best if we just euthanized her because we're going on a three-week trip this summer and wanted our other dog to adjust to her death before we leave.

I p. much hate how this turned out.. I did it pretty sloppily and it doesn't do her justice and it doesn't very well express how I feel.

She had behavioral problems almost all her life and because of that we didn't treat her with as much love as we could have and for that I feel like shit. I at least tried to make her last week on Earth nice by walking her a few times, which we hardly ever did. She and my other dog were too hard to handle together.. but I regret not trying harder. I feel if she got more exercise she wouldn't have had the neuroticism and behavioral issues that she did.

P.S. I got my nose pierced months ago so that's what the little derp on Van's nose is.
