I would redirect you to fav the original but JB is yet to post the picture. But I couldn't resist. This was a birthday present to myself done by the wonderful, Jailbird. I think I am addicted to her art T_T
Anyway, this is me (the wolf plant dragon) playing D&D with my mate (the raven) whom is my DM (Dungeon Master). Me rolling a D20 watching and hoping for the best while my mate watches to see if my fate is sealed!
Seriously though... Alkwraith is the most awesome DM ever! He creates his own worlds (none of that studdered reading from the book trying to figure out if what the player did fits the preplanned story or not), and he rewards you if you come up with a creative solution. So if we come to a guard who is blocking the way and one of us dances to distract him while the others get in or just charm him with our words rather than fighting, we still get the experience. Also he doesn't stonewall us into going in a specific direction (which I have had with previous DM's where you encounter an infinitely long/tall wall that blocks your path).
He also encourages interaction between the players, roleplay (RP), and problem solving. I try to sit with other DM's but I am spoiled and have the best DM ever <3 Anyway, this is based on Pathfinder if anyone was curious. This picture is currently my computer background.

LOL! I almost never roll above a 5 when it comes to initiative. I roll good and bad on normal combat. But when it comes to just showing off with skill checks, my dice love me! Or when a friend is down and it would be a dramatic/perfect time to run over and hit an enemy really hard. I just hope my newest set of dice love me as much as my others... I think I am up to 5 sets now.
But that is just it. A lot of games you power yourself up and it becomes no challenge because you don't have the threat of falling on your face (which I have done on multiple occasions... Or dropped my sword..... Or tripped and stabbed myself). Typically a good story teller won't let you died in a meaningless manner. And if you do die and like your character, there is always the chance that a cleric can resurrect your character.
Its based off teenage mutant ninja turtles, and your creatures are somehow weather it be toxic waste or experimentation are smarter and in some cases more human-esqe then their pure animal counter parts. You don't get to choose your animal its chosen by a roll of the die XD only played it once but it was awesome!
