I gotta admit, I was actually really pleased how the last comic didn't divulge into the typical "hey, ya know what? Lets just have sex!" fare that is soooooo damn common amongst "mature" furry comics. It felt way more real to me. So I'll be interested in seeing how this one goes.
If you haven't figured it out by now, most/all of my comments on each page are going to be a lot of pointless text as I look for something to remark on. Like how I noticed the brother's hair part forward of his ears and it made me wonder if styling anthro hair is difficult because those big-ass ears keep getting in the way.
It's rare to see an "American Style" comic these days, especially one reminiscent of the best of the 80's in its particular implementation of that visual style
(by the way, the 80's happen to be about when the last of the truly good print comics were made, imnsho. Everything is a re-hash, re-imagine, re-cycle of something done 50+ years ago these days).
I remember reading this long ago when it first started - lost it some time during the hiatus due to illness (btw: omfgwtfbbq lyme disease?! Dat shi's bad juju brah. Baaaad juju. I hope you were able to be treated early enough to kill it off with anti-biotics ^_^;; ) and am ecstatic to have finally found again (by accident no less!).
As a *very* slight critique, the characters feel a little bit like they are based off of "stock" characters found in a "how to be epic at writing!" book (I own too many) - "Good Guy", "Protagonist", "Bad Guy" etc. ... BUT! At the same time, that means the characters are easily identifiable, easy to relate with, and/or build an emotional engagement with, and that helps with suspension of disbelief!
In my again not-so-very-humble opinion, that shows a humility and wisdom in the writer.
It's incredibly easy to fanboy all over the artwork of a beautiful comic such as this one (which, beyond a doubt IS beautiful), but getting someone to fanboy on both artwork and writing, I think, deserves an extra helping of congratulations.

Addressed in order since there's a lot there.
"the 80's happen to be about when the last of the truly good print comics were made"
Someone hasn't looked at what Image and Vertigo have been offering! Not that I want to debate about the current quality of print comics with anyone.
And no, I never truly "beat" Lyme, I'll have it for life, though I handle it fairly well I'm told.
Thank you though! I'm glad the characters mostly work for you and that the artwork evolution wasn't a turn off! (I'm assuming you read beyond this point, otherwise you're uh....in for something ahaha)
I'm up to current ^_~, yah. It just happened as a matter of "huh, what page is best to comment on... uh... page one?"
I'm with you on debating the quality of print comics - and, in all fairness I really should count "the little guys" (even if some of them aren't all that little!) in such a comment as it's true they've been proudly trying to keep up standards and doing a generally good job of it.
Sucks about the lyme disease though :/ Just one more reason ticks (and frankly, I'd like to include anything with 8 legs in this statement) are actually hellspawn.
Finally, I didn't want to drop spoiler alerts on page one, so I tried to keep everything kinda non-specific.
*coughs while making hand gestures of the things that would be spoilers* that said, the comics evolution has kept me hooked.
... now what did I do with that use only in an emergency when gagging on one's own foot removal tool...?
