Mt Rainier and a Suprise Deer!

I was taking pictures of the mountain when I noticed on the rocky bluff to the lower right of the picture there's a deer standing there! It was right above the "under construction" parking lot for Mt. Rainier National Park's Paradise recreation area. Surprise!

Not too bothered at all, infact she even came down and crossed the road not more than about 20 feet from us. And there was a fresh buck following behind her too. Unfourtunately I had to swap batteries, and memory cards when he got to cross. (grr)

Awww darn >!< Oh well, those are the kinda risks one has to take when it comes to wildlife photography eh? Still a remarkable shot!

Only shot I got out of the stag that day was a parting shot, and some blurred shots as he was darting accorss. I now use larger memory cards, (still blow through the 2gb cards in nothing flat though)

I KNOW!!! You know you have the space, you think your good, so you keep going, and wham card full in a flash XD I've started carrying a portable hard drive with me that when my card fills up I just throw them onto the HD, and I've got a fresh card right there.

Yeah I've got a small laptop that I pack with me nowdays. Adds to the weight, but is worthwhile in the end. That and cards are getting so cheap so I'm packing more cards
