A Reanimator is a very interesting beast. Reanimators are a little smaller than a domestic house cat and look very crustacean-like. They get their name from their morbid habit of finding a fresh human corpse, using their powerful tail to break open the rib cage, eat the innards, then slip into the deceased now hollow chest and use their long, furry tentacles to send pulses to the limbs to make them actually function and move. The corpse is of course still dead, but the Reanimator can make it do things like walk around, which is a pretty scary and horrific sight to see. They live in the corpse until they either outgrow it or it becomes to decomposed, a lot like a hermit crab. For the most part Reanimators are harmless to the living, they rarely attack humans, however, they can be a pest. They are known to hang out around cemetery's looking for fresh corpses to live in, some cemetery's had to go so far as to put fences around the graves or cages to keep the Reanimators from digging the bodies back up. There have also been horror stories of people in a coma or passed out being mistaken for being dead and a Reanimator breaking their rib cage and eating them alive, but that's just old scary tales... right?

Freaky and brilliant! Excellent work yet again. Marvelous original creature.
This is just a geeky personal statement but I have a character that hunts down Lovecraftian horrors like these and every time you post one of the nightmares I can always see himengaged in battle with them. Oh, the epic combat that takes place!
And finally, I'm sorry but it must be said: Move your dead bones!
