Carman the Charmeleon
Wewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwt~! ^w^
FINALLY...! After all these years~, I have uploaded my first picture of my VERY FIRST POKEMON! =3 Everyone (out there, or those looking, or for those who have nothing better to do), meet Carman the Charmeleon! =3
Carman was my very first pokemon when I got into the world of Pokemon, back in '98. I didn't actually get the Red version until my birthday in '98, but man oh man--I just couldn't get enough of that game... >w<
I loved my Charmander, Carman (depicted here as a Charmeleon). She was the only character I'd use, and ended up becoming my instant favorite the day I played the game, previous favorite having been the Nidoran clan. It was only until 2002 that I really started developing an interest in Eevees.
Carman's fiery personality has its roots in my fanfictions I used to write: Pokemon Adventures: The Adventures of Ben Red the Pokemon Trainer. Carman was born from an egg I received on my thirteenth birthday, given to me by my dad. She was a curious lil' bugger--always ended up getting into mischief; pooping on the counter, spilling the glasses, and regurgitating all over the bathroom sink. I'll tell YOU--DON'T feed Carman chicken before midnight, if you know what's best for yeh! Yup-that's right, BEFORE midnight. X3
Her personality hit when my friend Tim started training her alongside with his snobby yet cool and strong Pikachu, Zapper. It was here that our lil' baby Charmander received a beating which brought her to her senses. After all the training she ended up doing with him, Carman became somewhat of a loner. She didn't depend upon me so much, and could do things herself. A strange, generic food handed out from the government for testing a new kind of food similar to Iams ended up dramatically altering her thought process as well. Carman now had the mental capacity of a 13 year old, and in the end became as smart and intellegent as any human being, with the included ability of being able to talk in English, or her native tongue. X3 Talk about awesome!
Unlike Ellissa, Carman is a bit more focused on getting things done and making those necessary connections with others to keep things going. She's not afraid of anything, other than losing what she has in her mind.
That's pretty much it! =3 I luv my Charmeleon! ^w^

^^ Well...! Thank you so much for the comment, Fire Fox! I'm glad that you found a soft spot for Carman here by looking at her! =3 ...Yeah--the world's gotten pretty big, that's about all I can say. It's not as easy as it used to be back in '98 when we were only used to dealing with the first 151. Now we're up to around 486-ish, and with the inclusion of WiFi on the new game paks, it sure does make me feel old school. TwT I still have all my equipment from those good ol' days...
Expressions... Now there's something I ought to write a journal about. All my expressions are about the same thing, or reflect the same intensity as the one before it. I prefer mellow, softer shaped faces to hard and wily ones for my characters. It's in the mellowness of it all that I can portray who they really are and what they mean to me. Carman's a sassy girl, so I tried to reflect more of that sassy look in her eyebrows and her eyes rather than her mouth. The face is probably the biggest indicator of my characters' emotions, but teamed with the body--it's all about posture and how the pose works with the rest of the body. I'm glad you took the time to comment and put out some really interesting thoughts! =3 Keep writing, and I'll keep reading! Thanks! ^^

^W^ Glad you liked her! It took me a pretty long time to decide what she'd look like with hair before I decided on this one. It's kinda plain, but I figured that if I could make it shimmer that it would look a lot better than what it already did. =P Thanks for your comments! ^w^ And a big thankie for the fav, too! =3 Thanks for lookin'! X3
